A Coastal Celebration in Taormina

Kysha and Shem chose one of the most beautiful corners of Sicily for their celebration — Villa Mon Repos in Taormina, a luxury coastal villa wrapped in terraces and gardens. It is a setting that seems almost made for a wedding, with panoramic views that stretch across Mount Etna, the Ionian Sea and the little island of Isola Bella.

The villa sets the tone: elegant and unmistakably Sicilian, its terraces and gardens opening onto that extraordinary coastal view.

Their symbolic ceremony was held outdoors on the villa’s terrace, with the sea beyond. There is a particular kind of magic to exchanging words in the open air, framed by coastline, sky and the deep blue of the Ionian.

What made the day so special was the way the location was used — Etna rising in the distance, the sea below and Isola Bella tucked into the bay. It is a beautiful, dramatic coastal setting, and Kysha and Shem made the very most of every view it offered.

In the evening, the celebration moved into the villa’s gardens. Strings of fairy lights were hung overhead, and beneath that warm canopy of light Kysha and Shem danced together.

“Villa Mon Repos made amazing use of Etna, the sea and Isola Bella,” Lina remembers — a beautiful coastal location that gave the whole celebration a sense of place you simply cannot recreate anywhere else.
