Sicily Wedding Venues We Love

A Countryside Wedding Venue in Western Sicily

Casale degli Aranci is warm, rustic and unmistakably Sicilian. Tucked into the hills of Calatafimi-Segesta, in the province of Trapani, it is surrounded by citrus groves and open countryside, with sweeping views over the hills from its gardens.

There is a historic courtyard made for outdoor ceremonies, gardens among the palm trees, a shaded terrace for long dinners and a pool for aperitivo. Add the fact that civil ceremonies can take place right on site, and it is one of our favourite wedding venues in western Sicily, and a wonderful choice for couples who want to combine countryside and coast.

Where Is Casale degli Aranci?

A Wedding Venue near Castellammare del Golfo

The Casale sits on the SS113 in the countryside of Calatafimi-Segesta, roughly between Palermo and Trapani. The seaside town of Castellammare del Golfo, with its harbour and beaches, is about twenty minutes away by road, which makes it a perfect base for guests.

Guests can fly into Trapani airport, about 37 km away, or Palermo airport, about 58 km. In between the celebrations there is the Greek temple at Segesta, the coves of Scopello and the Zingaro nature reserve to explore, along with boat trips along the coast and long dinners by the harbour.

A Real Wedding We Planned Here

A Wedding in the Sicilian Hills: Jessica & Seb

Jessica and Seb were married at Casale degli Aranci in May 2026, and it is a real wedding we planned here. The bridal party spent a relaxed morning in the Casale’s two getting-ready rooms, then Jessica walked to Seb down a stone staircase on her father’s arm for a fully legal civil ceremony on site, celebrated with a joyful burst of coloured smoke.

Their guests stayed in Castellammare del Golfo and travelled up together by coach. The food was generous and authentically Sicilian, the first dance was under a canopy of string lights, and fireworks lit up the Casale to end the night. Their wedding was featured in British Vogue’s October issue.

The Pool

A poolside setting for aperitivo, and a magical spot once the lights come on in the evening.

Big Celebrations Welcome

Room for Everyone

Casale degli Aranci can host up to around 450 guests outdoors, across the gardens and poolside, and up to around 300 indoors in its large hall. It works just as beautifully for a smaller wedding, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out.

With a historic courtyard, gardens, a terrace and an indoor hall, you can move from ceremony to aperitivo to dinner and dancing without anyone needing to leave the Casale.

Where Guests Stay

Countryside Wedding, Seaside Base

Jessica and Seb’s guests made a proper holiday of it by staying in Castellammare del Golfo, with beach days, boat excursions and harbour-side dinners in between the celebrations. On the wedding day a coach carried everyone together up to the Casale, an easy ride of about twenty minutes through the countryside.

There are no guest rooms at the Casale itself, so we help you find the right hotels, villas and B&Bs nearby, in Castellammare del Golfo and the Scopello area, and arrange transfers so nobody has to think about driving.

Ceremonies

A Legal Civil Ceremony, Right on Site

Thanks to the Casale’s official collaboration with the City Hall of Calatafimi-Segesta, couples can hold a legally binding civil ceremony right at the venue, with no rushing between town halls.

We guide you through the paperwork, and on the day our Sicily-based planner Sabina can be at your side to interpret alongside the Italian official, just as she was for Jessica and Seb. Our legal documents guide and our post on civil vs religious weddings in Sicily explain the basics.

Food & Wine

Generous, Authentic Sicilian Food

Catering is in-house, by the Casale’s own chefs, rooted in Sicilian tradition, with ideas such as a street-food aperitivo and show cooking alongside Sicilian wines. At Jessica and Seb’s wedding the food was, quite honestly, exquisite, and guests were still talking about it long after the plates were cleared. We will help you shape the menu and every moment around it.

Why We Love It

Countryside and Coast, Together

Civil Ceremony On Site

A legal civil wedding in a beautiful setting, without a separate trip to the town hall.

A Seaside Base for Guests

Castellammare del Golfo is about twenty minutes away, so the wedding becomes a holiday by the sea.

Food People Remember

Generous, authentic Sicilian menus from the Casale’s own kitchen.

Made for a Party

Coloured smoke, string lights, sparklers and fireworks: the Casale knows how to celebrate.
